MINISTER ANNOUNCES TWO MONTH EXTENSION TO EVICTIONS BAN

The Government has extended the eviction ban for a further two months.

Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick MP has tweeted “We are suspending evictions from social and private rented accommodation by a further two months. Eviction hearings will not be heard in courts until the end of August and no one will be evicted from their home this summer due to Coronavirus.”

Prior to the announcement of lockdown in England, measures were brought in to prevent new eviction proceedings for at least a three-month period. This was due to conclude on 24 June, but we now understand this has been extended to 23 August.
